This was the list of stuff I had to do last night.
I literally did none of those things. Not even the Ped Egg. (Gross!)
But, I did make a carrot cake! Hooray! For the first time ever too. AND it was a cake suitable for Blake who is now 8 months old. It’s got no sugar in it and is packed with loads of healthy ingredients. It contains ground nuts, dates, sultanas, carrots and other lovely good-for-you stuff I can’t remember. I’d write the recipe down but I don’t know if I’ll get into trouble. It’s out of the (very brilliant) Baby Led Weaning cookbook which has been like my bible on this BLW journey so far. I highly recommend it. I mean, if I can follow it anyone can!
My track record with cooking ain’t the best. I once managed to explode a whole can’s worth of tomato soup over my Mum’s brand new pristine white MFI kitchen. I didn’t realise you couldn’t put a Pyrex dish on a naked flame and it erupted and shattered like a molten red Heinz volcano. They had to re-paint the kitchen ceiling it was that bad.
Anyway, I digress. The carrot cake was a major hit – see:
And there was plenty for Mummy to enjoy with a cup of coffee too!
Blake had a small piece after his lunch of steamed Brussel sprouts and green beans and wolfed it down. He shoved it in so fast that he ended up sporting an albino Hitler cream cheese moustache.
Must now resist the temptation to spend the rest of the day eating bits of it here and there. It is for the baby after all!
